Bar Manager

The Bar Manager will be responsible for managing the business aspects of the bar, such as hiring and training bar staff while providing “best in class” service to our customers. The Bar Manager will manage a team of associates by creating work schedules and communicating changes regularly. In addition, the Bar Manager plays a critical role in ensuring goals are consistently met throughout the department. This role must demonstrate accountability, strong team management skills and hands-on involvement, both on the floor and with the team. 

Essential Job Functions:


  • Planning and managing staff schedules for the daily events.
  • Direct bar operations while overseeing seamless beverage service.
  • Handles customers complaints and responds to questions, and offers recommendations.
  • Creates drink menus and drink specials for events as needed.
  • Oversees sales and customers transactions using point of sale technology.
  • Proficiently work the cash register, handle cash, and credit card transactions.
  • Ensure bar area follows health and safety guidelines.
  • Manage emergency protocols, company policies (time off, rules, uniforms).
  • Ensure that bar equipment is in optimal condition fully stocked.
  • Increase bar revenue through the development and marketing initiatives.
  • Steer and monitor movement of the inventory from the store to the bar.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment and have fun!


Job Requirements:

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:


  • 3-5 years of experience as a bar manager, required.
  • Experienced mixologist.
  • Ability to successfully lead, coach, train, develop and motivate a team.
  • Ability to maintain composure, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to make independent decisions regarding department needs and priorities.
  • Willingness and availability to work a flexible schedule that includes (a) days (b) nights (c) weekends, and (d) holidays.
  • Strong leadership/manager skills with an ability to connect positively with Associate's in a professional manner.


Physical Demands:

  • Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to the duration of a scheduled shift.
  • Regularly required to stand and/or walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
  • Frequently required to bend, twist, reach, push and pull.
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work with a wide variety of substances without negative allergic consequences.
